She told Willow Smith on Red Table Talk that her family is quite devout and that things like homos**uality are highly taboo, so they don’t talk about it and it’s not really acceptable.

I love and respect them now. I appreciate what they believe. I appreciate their faith. I can’t expect them to set their culture and religion aside anymore. Expectations make people angry. What other people think of me is none of my concern.

Paris has a music career, just like her dad. In 2020, she put out an album called “Wilted.”

According to the NHS, Michael had vitiligo, a long-term illness that causes white patches to appear on the skin that are not pigmented. This is why Jackson’s complexion got lighter as he got older.

Jackson had a rare interview with talk show presenter Oprah Winfrey before he died. He talked about his skin issue and stated he was proud of being African-American.

I am an American of African descent. Being a Black American makes me proud.  I am proud of who I am and what ethnicity I am.  He said, “I have a lot of pride and dignity in who I am.”

This is what happened: I have a skin condition that ruins the color of my skin. I can’t help it, okay?

But it upsets me when people make up stories about me that aren’t true.  I can’t help but have this problem.

Paris has now explained why she identifies as a Black lady, taking into account Jackson’s African-American background.

Michael would stare me in the eyes and point his finger at me and say, “You’re Black.” She told Rolling Stone, “Be proud of where you come from.”

And I’d say, “Okay, he’s my dad. Why would he lie to me?” That’s why I believe what he said. Because I know he has never lied to me.

She said that other persons of mixed race look like her, such as Wentworth Miller from Prison Break, who has a Black father and a white mother.

After these statements, Paris has been criticized, and talk show host Wendy Williams even called her words “cute.”

I get that she thinks she’s Black and all, but I’m just talking about how she looks, you know…  She said, “Black is not what you call yourself; it’s what the cops see when they put steel to your neck on the turnpike.”

It’s what they see. That’s sweet, and it’s good for her.
