Oprah Winfrey has denied that she wouldn’t let Hawaiians use her private road as they ran away from the tsunami that was coming.
The 8.8-magnitude earthquake that hit near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia’s Far East sent tsunami warnings across the Pacific, from Japan and Russia’s Kuril Islands to the U.S. West Coast and Hawaii.

Dramatic videos have revealed people trying to leave in a hurry, large traffic bottlenecks in Maui, and gigantic waves breaking on the coastlines of Hokkaido and Severo-Kurilsk.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that tsunami waves were more than 5 feet high off the north-central beach of Maui.
As sirens blared and people were told to leave the island, others on social media criticized Winfrey.
People in the vicinity would find it much easier to reach higher ground if Oprah opened her private route from Wailea to Kula, Hawaii, according to someone. Hundreds of people are hurrying to escape the massive tsunami that is approaching Maui, which is causing heavy traffic. Open the road, Oprah.
But Oprah’s crew promptly denied the charges, saying that she had not obstructed any escape routes.
As soon as we heard the tsunami warnings, we immediately called FEMA and the police to make sure the road was open. None of the other reports are accurate. Following the earthquake, former President Donald Trump issued his own warning on Truth Social. He stated, “Due to a massive earthquake that happened in the Pacific Ocean, a Tsunami Warning is in effect for those living in Hawaii.”

In a bulletin, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said, “You are in danger.” The National Weather Service repeated this. Stay away from the coast. Now is the time to move to higher ground or further inland. Stay away from the seaside until local authorities indicate it’s safe to go back.

Tsunami watches and warnings were sent out to sections of Alaska, such as the Samalga Pass in the Aleutian Islands, and along the coast of California.
The National Weather Service office in Los Angeles stated that the notice applies to the counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles.
Flights to Hawaii have been canceled, and water has already damaged Russia’s Severo-Kurilsk port, however no major injuries have been recorded yet. As tremors spread over the Pacific, officials are still keeping an eye on the tsunami threat.
