Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have announced their impending marriage.
The couple, who are quite popular, announced their engagement on Instagram. Swift posted a series of pictures, one of which showed Kelce on one knee in a garden full of flowers.
Other photos featured the couple hugging after getting engaged and the singer of “Shake It Off” flashing a large diamond on her ring finger.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift wrote in a tweet that accompanied the image.
Swift and Kelce’s engagement news comes after a very public and well-liked relationship grew between the two. They were first seen together in September 2023, after a Kansas City Chiefs home game where Kelce and his team beat the Chicago Bears.
In 2023, Kelce said that he had tried to send Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, but it didn’t work.
He later talked more about how their relationship started, saying that they had already been communicating before they met in New York for the first time.
Swift then attended other Chiefs tight end games, including Super Bowl LVXIII, where she had a kiss with the football player following the game.
After Kelce’s spectacular NFL season in 2023/2024, he was seen on stage during the singer’s very successful Eras Tour.
The two had been spotted together in public and on the field before, but this was the first time the NFL player had been on stage with his girlfriend.
A lot of fans thought the couple might get engaged, and there was a lot of talk among Swifties online building up to the big event for the two stars.
The proposal comes just days after Swift was on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she talked about her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
It also comes after claims that Kelce wasn’t thinking about getting married in May 2024. Sources told Us Weekly that it might take the couple some time to get to this stage.
Sources informed Us Weekly at the time that it wasn’t even on his radar. He takes marriage very seriously and would never just leap into it without thinking about it beforehand.
The famous pair has had a lot of sweet times together before they got engaged. Most of these times happened when Kelce started playing in the NFL.
Swift could be seen hugging, kissing, and talking to Kelce just after he exited the field in a game. Fans have called this moment “wholesome” because confetti was flying around them.
