Dolph Lundgren has offered what he believes to be his “secret” for an effective marriage.

Along with his wife, Emma Krokdal, the Swedish actor—known for his parts in hit movies such as Rocky IV, Creed II, and The Expendables—practively became a U.S. citizen last year. Lundgren, 38 years older than Krokdal, marks a fresh chapter in her marriage, scheduled for 2023. He married Anette Qviberg for about two decades; hence, this marriage is his second one.

Though his connection with Krokdal is fresh, Lundgren has offered Fox News unique advice for preserving a close relationship: “I’ve started a new routine where I give her a warm hug—10 times a day!” he said. This humble yet sincere act seems to be his secret part of a content marriage.

Lundgren highlights the need for love and connection in our relationships and shows how much of an impact little deeds can make. “I want to sneak in a few minutes of affection before lunch,” he said nervously. “This helps me to save some warmth to get me through the day. This activity helps solve issues and eliminate misunderstandings, even if it sounds simple or wild. Besides, it makes both of us glad. Right now, I use that method most often.

“Love Dolph’s approach! Simple acts like giving a hug 10 times a day can truly strengthen a relationship. It’s all about affection, respect, and making your partner feel appreciated. Such a great reminder for all of us!”

    In Comments, 2nd person says:

“Such an interesting perspective! It’s amazing how something as simple as a daily hug can make a big difference in a marriage. Shows how small gestures of love and respect can really keep the connection strong!”

He went on, “People often desire to be right when differences develop. Still, it’s important to make sure your spouse feels appreciated even in those difficult talks. The expression “happy wife, happy life” is true; compliments and mutual respect are absolutely essential.”

Since 2003, Lundgren has been happily married to Susan Downey; they have two children: Exton, born in 2012, and Avri, born in 2014. From her earlier marriage to Deborah Falconer, Susan has a 31-year-old son called Indio.

Susan highlighted a rule they follow to keep their solid marriage: “We have a two-week rule. Though it can occasionally feel too long, we make sure not to spend more than two weeks apart as a family.

“We really like being a traveling circus whenever possible,” she said, smiling.

Susan credits her profession as a producer for providing more freedom than her husband’s on-screen responsibilities demand.  “The advantage is I’m not front of the camera. Being a producer allows me more flexibility about where I should be,” she said.

A combination of work and family life is ideal for them since it shows how successfully humble gestures of love and good communication can strengthen bonds. Studies reveal that couples who frequently show appreciation for one another report more marital satisfaction—something Lundgren and Downey unequivocally value and appreciate.
