At the early age of 21, beloved TikTok from Christchurch, New Zealand, Dominique McShain went suddenly.
McShain had become a source of inspiration for many, with a following on the well-known social media platform of about 200,000.

After her death was announced, supporters expressed their grief and sent moving online memorials. One fan said, “You’ve been inspirational”. Enjoy your long run across the heavens. Remembering you. “Sweet Dom,” another admirer said, “your life has shared with the rest of us so much delight and hope. All my love. “You will be greatly missed,” said a third follower very simply.
McShain broke terrible news about her health to her followers earlier this month. Having symptoms including constipation, tiredness, and blood in her stool, she had been diagnosed with colon cancer. The Mayo Clinic states that colon cancer begins in the colon, a sizable portion of the large intestine in charge of breaking down dietary waste.

Healthcare experts are worried about the rise in colon cancer cases among younger people. There are reports that the number of people aged 20 to 40 in 24 countries, including the US and UK, getting colon cancer and other types of cancer is going up.
Prior to receiving her diagnosis, McShain was pursuing a degree in psychology. She began writing about her disease on social media soon after learning she had it and soon attracted hundreds of supporters. At first, doctors thought she had up to five years to live. In spite of this, she passed away from the cancer a little more than a year later.

On April 7, McShain shared a touching update on Instagram that her outlook had changed significantly. “I want to be honest with you all: this is the last email I will send about my cancer until I die,” she wrote. “I was recently told I only have a few days to a few weeks to live.” Though my life is short, I feel I’ve made the most of it.
