The internet made her known to millions of people yet her life story took a turn for the worse.
She gained widespread fame through her arresting mugshot photo when attending the University of Georgia but her recent news coverage reveals serious problems.
Lily Stewart received unexpected fame this month through her unusual stylish booking photo that circulated throughout the internet after her arrest.
Her polished look and confident smile following a traffic stop earned her playful nicknames like “Miss America” and “Mugshot Shawty,” turning her into a social media darling.

Thousands joked that she looked more ready for a beauty pageant than a booking photo, with some quipping she must have been “late for a sale at Lululemon” or rushing to “brunch for bottomless mimosas.”
Public fame through social media wiped away the fact that Stewart received two speeding tickets after getting pinched twice driving at 79 and 84 miles per hour in a 55 MPH limit zone.
Her positive attitude towards the public attention allowed her to preserve a sense of humor while her lawyer later confirmed that the initial speeding offense was dismissed.
The event would likely have concluded normally if not for the developments that occurred at the beginning of March 23.
Campus police at the University of Georgia responded to an intrusion alarm at the Tate Student Center which is usually locked down at night time around 3 a.m.

Security cameras showed Stewart along with three others entering the building by using an exterior stairwell door instead of their keycards.
During police arrival the group members began trying to escape from the scene.
The UGA student Payton Drewer at 20 years old together with Whitaker Tollmann at 19 along with Seamus Gilmartin at 20 were arrested at the Tate Deck.
Stewart chose to flee the scene by hiding behind a brick wall near Gate 10 of Sanford Stadium.
She tried to escape capture by taking shelter behind the Sanford Stadium Gate 10 brick wall which led to a short police search until her discovery.

The police officers found it surprising when Stewart admitted her transgression during questioning before the internet found the same revelation fascinating.
Afteratown decided to stay hidden because her bond status made her want to avoid getting punished for wrongdoing. She initially said “It was about the trespassing?” That trespassing offense belonged to me throughout.
Law enforcement officials determined no evidence of alcohol or illegal items existed during the observation period and her associates received separate minor offenses.
The football player Gilmartin from Harvard football received two phony IDs which led to his two-year ban at UGA.
The police released Stewart from detention after she posted a bond amount of $4,600 because she faced charges for loitering/prowling and obstruction of an officer.

The public began discussing Stewart once more not because of her detention but due to her reaction.
Similar to her previous arrest Stewart presented herself grinning in her mugshot which appeared online a second time.
Now, with two arrests in a month and both mugshots going viral, the “Mugshot Shawty” moniker has taken on a new meaning—and her blunt confession to police may be the wildest part yet.
