Fans are calling a new horror movie “perfect,” and critics are giving it great reviews.

The new horror thriller is giving viewers and critics alike the chills, and many are calling it the best reception for a horror movie in years.

This supernatural mystery has done something nearly unheard of in the genre: it features a premise that sounds like every parent’s worst fear.

Only two horror films this decade have received such great praise, and the film’s perfect 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics is extremely uncommon.

Forbes says that Netflix’s His House is the only other horror movie to achieve this level, which makes its theatrical release stand out even more.

Early spectators who saw preview screenings are hailing the picture a masterpiece of modern horror. People who have seen the show have been posting overwhelmingly enthusiastic comments on social media, saying that it was very scary.

One fan posted on social media, “Horror is my favorite genre, but most of the time I just feel uneasy, creeped out, grossed out, or a little tense.” This movie really scared me.

Someone else said it was “the craziest movie you see all year.” It has the same frightening quality as It Follows or Longlegs, but with the tone and anarchy of Barbarian. Each episode is more unexpected than the last, and some of the horrifying imagery is now imprinted into my head. FREAKING HAUNTING!’

The movie seems to have an effect that lasts long after the credits roll.  Oh my God…  Another excited viewer said, “Just finished watching—what a ride!”

This movie is fantastic because it does everything a great horror movie should do: it keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I can’t wait to see it again with a crowd.

Professional critics are just as thrilled with how well the film tells its story and how well it is made. The movie has been acclaimed for its confidence in direction and ability to generate suspense throughout its 128-minute length.

According to Metro, critic Joey Magidson said it was a long burn that led to an outrageous and extremely rewarding ending.

The director is sure in his direction, which is rare for filmmakers, especially in the horror genre. It’s epic and one-of-a-kind, which is another evidence that he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Screen International appreciated the film’s complex structure: It takes its time telling a complicated story, switching points of view and key characters over and over again until all the pieces fit together in a really gratifying way.

Slant Magazine highlighted the director’s skill to blend dread with moments of relief: For every moment of electrifying fear, the director washes the palette with equivalent comic relief.

One reviewer, Perri Nemiroff, even said it may be timeless: “The direction is so confident that this storytelling structure flows so well, and that’s a big part of why he can pull off such an ambitious idea.” Undoubtedly a favorite conclusion of 2025 – if not of all time.

Julia Garner plays Justine Gandy, a teacher who becomes both a figure of sympathy and suspicion in the movie. The cast is quite good.

Josh Brolin gives a great portrayal as Archer Graff, a father who is grieving and wants to find out the truth about the disappearances.

The supporting cast includes Austin Abrams, Amy Madigan, Alden Ehrenreich, and Benedict Wong. They all contribute to the film’s tense, paranoid atmosphere, according to critics.

Industry experts think the movie will have a solid opening weekend, with early estimates putting it at over $25 million. That’s a lot of money for a new horror movie in today’s market.

Weapons comes from the same director of the 2022 horror sensation Barbarian, which got a 92% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and is already being called a modern masterpiece.

The story takes place in one of the most disturbing situations imaginable: a group of kids from the same class unexpectedly disappearing at the same time.

Last night at 2:17 am, every child in Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, and stepped into the dark. This is what the movie’s creepy tagline says. They never came back, though.

The town is still dealing with an unexplained catastrophe that pulls at the fabric of suburban life, with only one child left behind.

The story is told in 15-minute chapters titled after different individuals, such as the class instructor, the mourning parents, school authorities, and police officers.
