A boy in Indiana k!lled himself, and his parents are said to have talked about the horrible bullying their son went through before he died too soon.I was ten years old at the time.
WRTV says that on May 5, 2024, Sammy Teusch’s body was found. A few hours before this, other kids had told him that they would “get him” when school started again after the weekend.

Thirteen-year-old Xander Teusch, the child’s brother, found him h@nging from his bunk bed around 11:30 p.m.
The Teusch family is starting judicial proceedings right now. This includes Nicole and Sam, Sammy’s parents. Parents of Sammy have sued Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation and its Board of Trustees for wrongful de*th because they claimed to have ignored several complaints that Sammy was being bullied.
Many people on staff were “repeatedly informed about the bullying of Sammy Teusch (‘Sammy’) by students under the District’s supervision, and yet did nothing to stop it,” the lawsuit says. “Callous indifference” was shown by school leaders. It is also said in the case that the District did nothing to stop the bullying. The District also said they did nothing to stop the bullying that was going on. Records from the court say that Sammy k!lled himself on May 5, 2024, “because the District and these people completely ignored what was probably their most important duty.”

Others believe the victim was abused starting in the third grade. It is said that his friends made fun of him by calling him “Dahmer,” which they think is a reference to the famous serial k!ller Jeffrey Dahmer. This is what his folks said happened. They said that the way Sammy looked helped them come up with the word.
When one of the teachers found out, all she could say was, “In her opinion, Sammy did look a bit like Jeffrey Dahmer.”
Things got better for Sammy in the classroom after a short time. It was “a cry for help” for his parents, who saw it that way. The claim is that he was told off at work for being annoying. In this case, the claim actually means something.

Finally, one of the directors stepped in one day and let Sammy eat his lunch in their office. The lawsuit says that even though the principal went after the bullies, “it is unknown whether [the principal] took any disciplinary actions against the bullies or told their parents.”
Things did not really get better, though. It is said that the bullying got worse when Sammy went to Greenfield Intermediate School for the fourth grade.
“Sammy was chased throughout the school during breakfast period, and he would try to hide in a bathroom stall, frequently refusing to come out,” the complaint says. “Sammy was also followed across the playground.” Besides the “physical assault,” another student had hit him over the head with an iPad before this. Because of this, he got a black eye and hurt his shoulder and neck.
Everyone in the family says they told the school workers twenty times about the bullying, but it kept happening.
The people who filed the lawsuit say that “the District did not take appropriate corrective action despite being aware of the ongoing bullying and harassment.” He was mad at his dad one time and said, “They don’t listen to me, dad.” Sammy was so angry that no one was paying any attention to his safety.
The case says that the school “victim shamed and victim blamed” the victim by saying that the bullying was “Sammy’s problem” and caused by his “mental problems.”
When WRTV asked the Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation about what happened before the case, they pointed to a statement they had already made.
As soon as the school year ended the previous year, Greenfield was definitely shocked for a few weeks. All of us are sad when a child dies, and Greenfield was clearly shocked when the child k!lled themselves. After the terrible event, the statement says, our continued help and kindness will be sent to the Teusch family. The people who run the school and everyone else in the neighborhood feel sorry for the Teusch family.

That terrible day, May 5th, is here again. Since then, we’ve carefully gone over all of our data and talked to a number of people who were there. It went on to say, “As of right now, we have not found anything that would support the claim you have made.” We think that the same conclusion would be reached if the articles were read without any bias.
The Greenfield-Central School District is committed to giving all of its kids the best help possible, no matter what difficulties they may be facing when they come to school. We will do everything we can to keep a promise we made to our kids and their families.
Sammy’s “traumatic” de*th has made the police look into what happened before, during, and after his de*th. Their admission that bullying happened in the time before the de*th is important.

His father, Sam Teusch, said that his de*th felt like a wound that “cannot be healed.” It was made in May and was published in People magazine. As his last words, “So I have to make something to fix it for other people,”
Sam began sending letters to Congress, asking them to pass rules against bullying on a national level because he really wanted things to change. 38,128 people have signed it since then.
Even though he was sad, he talked about how hard it had been for him to keep a positive mood. “How do you do that when things are like this?” he asked. There is no chance that this will end well at any given time. Not at all. Unfortunately, there is nothing good to say about this. The only thing that could make this situation better is how we handle it.
