Leonardo DiCaprio has talked about the one movie he “regrets” not taking.
The actor, who is 50 years old, is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He has been in the business for more than 30 years and has played famous roles in movies like Titanic, The Revenant (which won him his first Oscar), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Even though he has had a lot of success, DiCaprio recently said that his “biggest” career regret is passing down a part in one of the best-reviewed movies of the 1990s, Boogie Nights.
Paul Thomas Anderson directed Boogie Nights, which has since become a cult classic. The movie starred Julianne Moore, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Burt Reynolds, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role.
Mark Wahlberg played the main character, Dirk Diggler, in the movie about the rise of a porn star in the 1970s.

After watching him in The Basketball Diaries (1995), DiCaprio told Esquire that Anderson offered him the part of Dirk.
But DiCaprio was already set to star in Titanic, a role that would make him a huge star around the world. He instead suggested that Wahlberg, his co-star, play the part.
DiCaprio remarked, “My biggest regret is not doing Boogie Nights.” It was a really deep movie for my generation… I thought it was a great movie when I finally got to see it.

Finally, 28 years after it came out, DiCaprio and Anderson are working together on One Battle After Another, their first movie together, which will come out on September 26.
DiCaprio plays Bob Ferguson in the movie. He is a failed revolutionary who has to deal with his history while trying to find his daughter, who he hasn’t seen in a long time.
DiCaprio said, “I’ve wanted to work with you, Paul, for about twenty years now.” He loved the idea of the washed-up revolutionary trying to erase his past and disappear so he could live a normal life raising his daughter, according to Variety.

In the same interview with Esquire, DiCaprio talked about his amazing career and the movies that have shaped it.
He doesn’t often watch his own work, but he said that The Aviator is one movie he often goes back to. He said that working with director Martin Scorsese on the biographical drama about Howard Hughes was the first time he felt like he was part of the production and not just an actor hired to play a role.
He said, “I’ve always been proud of and connected to that movie because it was such a big part of my life in this business.”
