After a deadly confrontation, the teen is back home, under tight legal surveillance in an upscale Texas neighborhood.
Teen Carmelo Anthony has been released from jail and is now under house arrest in a high-end Frisco neighborhood after being charged with killing Austin Metcalf.
As a result of a judge’s controversial decision, his bond was dramatically reduced despite the severity of the charges.

Currently, Karmelo lives in a gated community called Richwoods, within walking distance of Centennial High School, where he ran track and played football.
According to Zillow, Mercedes Lane rents for around $3,500 a month.

In a report by the Daily Mail, the paper reported that when its team visited the home, three cars were parked in the driveway – a white Suburban, a black Acura, and another sedan.
A neighbor noticed a newly purchased car with a temporary license plate that expires in June.
Karmelo’s father, Andrew Anthony, described in court the financial hardship Karmelo is experiencing.
He said he’s the only provider for his family, and the family doesn’t have access to over $439,000 in donations raised for his son’s defense.

According to him, the family will use these funds for legal costs and to relocate after receiving threats.
In addition, Andrew emphasized that he could not meet the $1 million bond set by the court because he was responsible for providing for his wife and four children.
Despite Karmelo’s release, several residents in the upscale neighborhood are uncomfortable with his presence in the area. Until Karmelo returned home from prison, many people were unaware of the family’s move.
The Daily Mail reported that some people were worried about community safety and questioned the judge’s decision. “Not good,” said one mom. That’s not good. He shouldn’t be out… Why would you stab someone? Now he’s a few doors down. “It’s really scary.”

Residents only found out about the family’s presence after engaging with reporters from the Daily Mail. Neighbors were surprised to discover they lived near the teen at the center of the high-profile case.
“We live here because it’s gated,” he said. It’s supposed to be a good neighborhood. There are a lot of high-end houses here. Not everyone can live here. Even I don’t know what to say. It’s supposed to be safe.”

Concerns were raised about what appeared to be a mismatch between the family’s financial claims and their current lifestyle. According to one of their neighbors, they are not poor. “That’s for sure.” Another neighbor suggested that the best solution for the entire family would be for the family to relocate to make it easier for everyone to be happy.
