Michael Jackson is being replaced by Harry Styles as the new pop king.

Originally owned by the regarded Michael Jackson, who passed away in 2009 at fifty years old, Harry Styles has been dubbed as the “new King of Pop.” Celebrated for his imaginative contributions to popular culture and named as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, Jackson is still a monument in music history.

Jackson developed an amazing set of honors over his remarkable career: 13 Grammy Awards, six Brit Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and twenty-four American Music Awards. He has established an amazing 20 Guinness World Records mark.

On the other hand, Harry Styles became well-known as part of the boy band One Direction following the X Factor competition. Styles, a successful solo musician, has developed a sizable and devoted following and put three studio albums out there. Three Grammy Awards have also been given to him, highlighting his popularity and skill in the music business.

After Rolling Stone wrote a piece called “Harry Styles: How the New King of Pop Set the Music World Aflame,” the conversation around Styles’ new title got momentum, while some younger supporters may consider Styles as a deserving successor to Jackson’s throne, others disagree.

Michael’s nephew Taj Jackson especially openly questioned the idea of a “new King of Pop.”

On X (previously Twitter), he said in a post, “There is no new King of Pop. Unlike my uncle, you did not earn the designation @Rolling Stone; you do not own it.”

Taj underlined that Jackson’s legacy was created on decades of struggle and hard effort and that the title should be considered retired. Though very gifted, he said Styles should be given a special title.

Many people related to Taj’s remarks, which attracted over 11,600 retweets and many positive responses. “I’m a great Harry Styles fan but no,” one user said. He is not Pop’s newly appointed King. There isn’t any new King of Pop. Another agreed, saying that the title left with Michael Jackson’s death: “It’s an insult to give that label to anyone considering the difficulties that the Jackson family went through.”

On the other hand, other fans contend that increasing Styles, the “new King of Pop,” honors Jackson’s legacy and lets fresh talent blossom. “Let people also shine,” one commentator said, implying that titles might change with time.

This discussion highlights fans’ strong emotional link to Jackson’s legacy and the difficulties in honoring great musicians.
