Hailie Jade McClintock is starting a whole new chapter in her life.
One that gives her more information about her father’s story than she has ever had.
McClintock, the daughter of the famous musician Eminem, is the first to have a baby. A tiny boy named Elliot Marshall McClintock. Elliot was born on March 14, 2025. His name is a tribute to the legendary singer Marshall Mathers.
Hailie made the announcement in a cute Instagram post that said, “3 weeks earthside little e.” She shared photographs of her baby wrapped up in a sweater with a bear’s ear knit. The news was a big deal for Hailie and her partner Evan McClintock, as well as for everyone who has been able to watch Hailie grow up with her music father.
“I’ve learned how important it is to balance what I share.”
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Hailie, who is now 29 years old, talked about how hard it is to raise her child in the public eye and how it is similar to her own childhood.
She said, “I’ve been in the public eye for a long time, and I’ve learned how important it is to keep my private life and the things I talk about in public separate.” Over time, I’ve grown to understand how hard it was for my father to protect our privacy while yet wanting to be proud of and honour his children.
Hailie, who recently put out a digital renovation series called Just a Little Reno, said that she taped a lot of it when she was pregnant. She admits that as a mother and mother, she feels more connected to the choices her father made.
“I feel the same way now,” she told the news source. I’d like to share the wonderful, happy times that mean the world to me, especially as a parent. But I also want to keep some parts of our lives just for us.
She remarked, “It’s all about finding the right balance between being open and being private.” As I become a mother, this balance has become increasingly vital to me.
“He Was the Best Role Model I Could Have Had”
This isn’t the first time Hailie has commented about how she feels about her famous dad.
In her presentation “Just a Little Shady,” she talked about Eminem’s parents with her uncle Nate Samra-Mathers, who is Eminem’s younger half-brother.
When talking about their family, she said, “It’s kind of like the same thing with Dad.” Like many individuals, they were scared that he wouldn’t be a good father or anything else. But now we’re here.
Nate agreed with this, saying, “He was the best role model I could have had to help me become the father I am today.”
Hailie has also said thank you for having younger parents. Being an older parent is excellent because you can connect with your kids and establish a bond with them. I have always liked that my parents were younger when they reared me.
A Father First: Eminem’s Lyrics as a Gift
Before he became a famous rapper, Eminem was simply a young dad trying to find out how to get there. Eminem was only 23 when Hailie was born in December 1995.
Eminem told Rolling Stone in 2004, “Bein’ a dad is definitely living a double life.” Before Hailie was born, I was a big fan of the right to speak freely… But when I went to the gates of my house and became a dad, it was time to say.
He said, “Bringing the kids to school, raising them, and teaching them the rules.” I’m not saying I’m a great dad, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and show them the right way to do things.
Eminem has often written songs about Hailie throughout the years. He has thanked Hailie in songs like “Hailie’s Sing” and “Mockingbird.” Recently, Eminem has talked about that emotional bond again. The rapper has devoted two tracks to his kids on his most recent album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).
In “Somebody Help Me,” she talks about the overdose he almost died from in 2007 and thinks about the big events he would have missed if he hadn’t lived.

A Moment That Comes Full Circle
Eminem surprised fans in October 2024 by disclosing Hailie’s pregnancy in the music video for his song “Temporary.” The video had ultrasound scans and a unique “GRANDPA” Detroit Lions shirt.
Eminem took a moment to thank his wife and kid while on stage with country artist Jelly Roll at Ford Field in Detroit not too long ago.
