Fans are getting more excited about the new Harry Potter series, and they’ve gotten a glimpse at the new main character.
HBO has started making their long-awaited Harry Potter TV revival. The first picture shows young Dominic McLaughlin as the Boy Who Lived.

After a huge talent search, the 11-year-old boy who will play Harry Potter will star in a new version of J.K. Rowling’s famous book series. The show is anticipated to last ten years and have seven seasons.
HBO says that the new series is a faithful version of JK Rowling’s popular Harry Potter book series. It started filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, which is the same famous lot where all eight movies were originally shot.
According to BBC News, the first season is set to come out in 2027, which gives fans plenty of time to read the books again or see the original movies again.
Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO, confirmed the release date, saying that the revamp would give each book room to breathe in a way that the movies couldn’t.
In the last few months, there has been a lot of casting news. Arabella Stanton plays Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout plays Ron Weasley, joining McLaughlin as the main trio. There were an incredible 30,000 auditions for the three young talents.
Fans have loved the new pictures of McLaughlin in costume, although some have said the same thing.
The costume is quite clearly Harry Potter, but fans have noticed that his scar looks a lot more real than in the first movies.
Someone said, “His jumper is a different color, and his scar looks more real.”
Another person stated, “I like the scar; it looks more real and natural.”
It’s nice to see that they are staying true to the original while making some small changes.
The show is getting a great cast, even beyond the three main characters. Nick Frost will play the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid, and John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore.
HBO has also just released a picture of Frost as Hagrid. Check it out:
According to the Independent, Janet McTeer will play Professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape, and new actors include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as wandmaker Garrick Ollivander.

The project is bringing in experienced people on the creative side, like director of photography Adriano Goldman and hair and makeup designer Cate Hall, both of whom are known for their work on The Crown.
Rowling has already spoken out in support of the project as excitement grows. She said on X that she had read the first two episodes of the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series and that they were “SO, SO, SO GOOD!”
Rowling said no when asked if she was authoring the scripts, but she had worked closely with the very great authors.
