Most of us will experience s** dreams at some point, but have you ever thought about what they mean?
S** dreams can be weird, especially if they include someone you know and you’re not sure if you should tell them about it.
But you shouldn’t feel bad about them because you can’t control what your brain does when you sleep.
That said, they can be really interesting, so what do the experts think?

What are dreams about s**?
Psychologist Deirdre Leigh Barrett, who wrote The Committee of Sleep, told Women’s Health Magazine: Dreams don’t follow the rules that you would in real life.
Barrett says that dreams can take you to places you don’t expect, like having s** with an ex, a coworker, or even a friend.

However, that does not make you a bad spouse or indicate that you wish to act on them.
It’s not uncommon to have dreams about cheating.
Research by the bedding firm Amerisleep in 2022 discovered that more than 20% of women had fantasised about cheating in the last year.

These patterns have been thoroughly examined by dream specialist Lauri Loewenberg, who is a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD).
She said, “In my research and in my work helping clients understand their cheating dreams, I’ve found that the main reason you cheat in your dreams is because deep down you feel guilty or worried about something you’re doing that is taking time away from the relationship.”
What your mind might be trying to tell you
Barrett says that thinking about the details of the dream can help you figure out what it means.
Did it seem like a long-term relationship or just a one-time thing?
What feelings were the strongest? If you feel the same way in real life, it could mean that you are not being true to yourself or your principles.

Loewenberg says that dreams of @dultery are generally connected to being unhappy in the relationship.
These subconscious situations may be caused by a lack of desire, unresolved guilt, or even a history of cheating.
She stated that cheating dreams are rarely about s**, but they are usually a very honest look at how things are going in the relationship.
Being unfaithful may be very painful and hard to get over.
The emotional scar usually stays even after years or decades have passed after the wrong.
This includes the guilt that the wrongdoer feels.

What if you have a dream that someone is cheating on you?
Some people want to cheat, while others want to be the one who gets cheated on.
Loewenberg said, “It’s usually something your partner is doing that makes you feel left out and ‘cheated’ out of the time you want with them.”
A dream of cheating can come from feeling that you’re being pushed to the side by work, hobbies, or other commitments.
How to handle dreams about @dultery that keep coming back
Experts say that these kinds of dreams are a typical way for the mind to deal with stress and emotions. Barrett says that if things are bothering you, you should still be honest about them.
She remarked that the best thing to do is to talk about things openly and in an interesting way.
