A 39-year-old lady named Athena Georgopoulos was found de@d at a house in Melbourne’s east on Monday night. She was pregnant.
Around 9:55 p.m., police found her deceased in a unit on Adrienne Crescent in Mount Waverley. She was found with her partner, a 50-year-old male, who had been beheaded.

The property was the man’s house. The police said that both victims’ next of kin had been told.
The Herald Sun says that Ms. Georgopoulos was five months pregnant when she d!ed. The publication further said that the head of the male victim had been cut off and put on a spike.
A 34-year-old guy was taken into custody at Westall train station in Clayton South early on Tuesday morning. He was barefoot, had blood on his clothing, and two big dogs with him. Police think that the victims know him and have called the incident targeted.
There was graffiti on the outside of the Mount Waverley property that said things like “Karma is not a menu,” “meat is m*rder,” and “betrayal,” “unpredictable,” and “inevitable.” The investigators haven’t been able to prove that the graffiti is linked to the m*rders yet.
A police spokeswoman told News.com.au that detectives from the Homicide Squad will look into whether the graffiti has anything to do with the m*rder case.

Detective Inspector Dean Thomas from Melbourne’s homicide squad stated that police were summoned to the location for the first time on Monday at about 9:20 AM after reports of yelling emanating from the house. A second call said the situation was more urgent, so authorities were there in minutes and found the bodies inside.
Inspector Thomas added that they think there is a connection between the suspect and the address. He also said that the man in prison may not have a permanent home.
On Tuesday, the crime site was still heavily secured. Forensic officers moved between the property and police cars as part of their investigation. At one point, a woman who was thought to be the mother of one of the victims dashed over police lines.

Police are now asking anyone who witnessed anything strange near Adrienne Crescent, Ferntree Gully Road, or Westall train station to come forward. They are also asking anyone who has CCTV or dashcam evidence to help with the inquiry.
The man in custody has not yet been charged with anything.
