Detectives looking into the Madeleine McCann case said they uncovered bone fragments and pieces of clothes at the search site near Praia da Luz, Portugal, last week.
On May 3, 2007, a British toddler went missing from a vacation apartment. Since then, her case has become one of the most famous missing person cases.

The authorities are still looking into the case almost twenty years later. A new search ended last Thursday.
A group of German and Portuguese investigators spent three days searching a 120-acre area in their latest attempt to gather evidence against the main suspect, Christian Brueckner, who has strongly denied the charges.
At first, it looked like the search didn’t find any new leads. But now it has been said that bones and pieces of clothes were found at the location and will be tested.
The search, which was the first since 2023, had the group going through empty buildings and scrubland.
The Berlin Morning Post spoke with a source who said, “Several objects have apparently been found, and the police are now looking at them more closely in the lab.”

“Portuguese news sources say that clothing scraps and bones were found, among other things. The investigators haven’t said for sure if the items could be connected to Madeleine’s disappearance, but it’s evident that they hope they are.
CNN Portugal also said, “During the search, the German police took several items that will be looked at more closely.”
But sources close to the probe told the Daily Mail that the operation has only unearthed “animal bones and bits of old adult clothing.”

A police officer told the news source, “We always knew it was going to be a waste of time, but we have to show cooperation.” What did they think they would uncover after 18 years? We were glad to work with them, but we knew it wouldn’t be worth it.
The newest news about the search comes as Brueckner, who is in prison in Germany for r**ing an old woman in Portugal in 2005, gets closer to being released.
Brueckner is set to be released in September and has already promised to leave Germany.
The main suspect in the McCann case recently gave an interview to a German newspaper in which he talked of getting out of jail.

He informed journalist Ulrich Oppold that he is looking forward to enjoying a steak and beer when he gets out.
After talking to his lawyer, he wouldn’t answer any questions about Madeleine.
Brueckner also informed the reporter that if he gets out of jail, he will leave Germany for a nation that doesn’t have an extradition treaty and stay out of the public eye because he is so well known.
