Jennifer Aniston recently talked about the de@th of her Friends co-star Matthew Perry.

She said that the cast had been “mourning” him long before he d!ed in October 2023.

Perry, who was most known for playing Chandler Bing on the famous TV show, d!ed from the immediate effects of ketamine. There are several records of his issues with addiction throughout his career, including when Friends was at its most successful.

Aniston talked on how Perry’s long fight affected her emotionally in a recent cover story for Vanity Fair. She remembered that they did everything they could while they could.

But it felt like we had been mourning Matthew for a long time because he had a tremendously hard time fighting that cancer. Even though it was hard for all of us and the fans, I think this is better. I’m delighted he’s not in pain anymore.

After Perry d!ed, Aniston posted on social media to show how sad she was. She sent a touching tribute that featured a text message from Perry with a picture of them laughing together on set. It made my day to make you chuckle. Perry had written that it made his day.

Aniston expressed her and her co-stars’ closeness to Perry in a heartfelt letter. Saying farewell to our Matty has been an emotional roller coaster I’ve never had before, she added. He greatly influenced who we are. The six of us were always involved.
This family was picked, and it permanently changed who we were and what we would do with our lives.
“Matty knew he loved making people laugh,” she continued. If he didn’t hear the “laugh,” he said, he thought he would d!e. It was essential to his survival.

Aniston went on to say how much Perry meant to her, saying, “He made all of us laugh.” And laugh a lot.

Aniston claimed to have texted Perry the day of his passing in a subsequent interview with Variety. He was thrilled, so she stated it was a bittersweet moment. He was doing well. He was no longer smoking. He was exercising. All I know is that he was happy. He was not in pain. It wasn’t difficult for him. He was feeling upbeat.
“I want people to know that he was getting healthier and was in good health,” she said. He had a mission. He worked very hard. He was undoubtedly dealt a poor hand. I miss him terribly. Everyone does. We laughed so hard at him, man.

Jennifer Aniston’s honest thoughts on Perry’s passing show how complicated their connection was, based on shared experiences, humor, and, in the end, sadness. The Friends group had to deal with the sadness of Perry’s de@th, but Aniston’s words make it clear that they are grateful for the friendship they had and the good times they had together.
