Jack Reynor, who is best known for his role in Midsommar, has talked about how he became “f***ing hammered” after filming a full-frontal n*de s** scene.

The disturbing A24 movie, directed and written by Ari Aster, follows grad student Christian (played by Reynor) as he reluctantly joins his fiancée Dani (Florence Pugh) on a trip to the quiet commune of Hårga. Dani is dealing with a terrible family tragedy.

What starts out as a school vacation quickly turns into drug-fueled rituals, mental breakdowns, and violent acts.

When Christian is enticed into a ceremonial s** act in front of a group of people, it is one of the most talked-about scenes.

The 33-year-old actress is entirely n@ked in the ceremonial scene, which goes against what is usually done in horror movies by showing how weak men are.

Reynor talked about the moment and said that even though he was excited to test the limits with the part, he needed to let off some steam right after filming ended.

Entertainment Weekly says he said, “I basically went from [the set] to the airport and got f***ing smashed.” I told them to send me on two flights home, not one, because I wanted to transfer. I was going to get even more f***ed up.

The actor from Sing Street claimed that even though it was hard on him emotionally, he was proud to do the part.

I’m glad I did it.  He told The Sun that he thought it was a strong moment and that it was an experience. I work in this field to have fun and accomplish things that are out of the ordinary for me.

The actor from The Perfect Couple said that changing the typical gender roles in horror movies was a big reason why he took on the assignment.

He experiences this extremely humiliating and revealing fate, and as a cinephile, I’ve really only ever seen it occurring to female characters in the horror genre… especially in a s**ual context, he said. So, it was a chance to be a part of something that turned it around.

It was a fascinating and hard thing to do. It made me feel more exposed than I thought it would, and I did believe I would feel exposed, but I’m really grateful I got to do that, he said.

Pugh, who co-starred with Reynor, also talked about Midsommar on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast. She said it was one of the hardest roles she had ever played.

She said, “I don’t think I could do this without going all the way and putting myself in all of the characters I’ve played.” I’ve given too much in various positions, and I’ve been broken for a long time after that. When I did Midsommar, I absolutely felt like I hurt myself in the places I went.

Pugh, on the other hand, said she doesn’t regret the experience: I look at that performance and I’m really proud of what I did and what came out of me. I don’t feel bad about it. But yes, there are undoubtedly qualities about yourself that you should respect.
