Unbelievably, one day after his 18-year-old son was sh0t de@d by police, a father has been charged with k!lling a sheriff’s deputy.

Ryan Hinton was slain by Cincinnati police Friday, May 1, while attempting to flee a stolen car.

Allegedly acting deliberately, Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, drove his automobile into a sheriff’s deputy the next day. WCPO claims the prosecution views this occurrence as premeditated m*rder.

During the arraignment that took place on Saturday, “the prosecutor, Ryan Nelson, stated that the driver carefully lined up his vehicle, purposefully accelerated it, and intentionally caused the de@th of a deputy sheriff who was on duty. This was done in a manner that was calculated and premeditated. Hinton Jr. allegedly sh0t the deputy with the intention of k!lling them, according to witnesses at the scene”.

The accusations against him are severe; prosecutors want an indictment for aggravated m*rder. Currently housed without bond, Hinton Jr. awaits a hearing set for Tuesday.

Though recently retired, the deputy—whose name has not become public due to Ohio’s regulations safeguarding victims’ identities—was nonetheless assigned special deputy responsibilities. On Friday, amid graduation ceremonies, he was directing traffic close to the University of Cincinnati when he was struck at about 1:00 PM.

Teresa Theetge, the Chief of Police, expressed her sorrow by saying that the officer had just finished his shift and was outperforming his job on what was intended to be a wonderful day for many people.

Declaring his sadness over what seems to be a deliberate act, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has penned a statement denouncing the current bloodshed. He remarked, “I have been informed of the ongoing investigation; I find what appears to be an intentional act of violence horrifying. We relate to the deputy’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Emphasizing his esteem and popularity across the county, Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey spoke favorably of the de@d deputy. She went on, “He was so well-liked and so well-known that we could fill this building with the law enforcement agencies that respect him, love him, his friends, and his family. Everybody has suffered such a big loss.

Friday night brought a somber march honoring the deputy. McGuffey reassured guests, “He won’t be alone. Someone will remain with him till he moves to higher ground.

The de@th of the deputy follows a sad event involving his son Ryan Hinton Jr., who was sh0t and de@d by police just one day prior. Released by the Cincinnati Police Department, body camera footage captures the events preceding the incident. Police had found four suspects in an East Price Hill stolen vehicle. Ryan Hinton was seen carrying a pistol as the suspects escaped.

Police Chief Theetge claims that as Hinton approached, an officer yelled warnings. “He carries a gun! He carried a gun. In your right! Right on your right! Theetge said the officer thought his life was at risk and discharged his pistol four or five times, striking Hinton twice when he emerged between dumpsters with his weapon poised menacingly.

Theetge pointed out, nonetheless, that the body camera footage does not precisely show Hinton aiming the rifle. “It’s a very blurry image, unfortunately,” she remarked, explaining the lack of clarity by pointing to the officer’s chase-related movement.

This sad chain of events draws attention to continuous worries regarding violence in law enforcement contexts. The community laments the de@th of the deputy as well as his kid and works through how these events will affect their life.

At the site of a recent incidence, police discovered a revolver with an extended clip although it had not been fired.

According to attorney Michael Wright, who represented the Hinton family, Ryan Hinton Jr. had recently turned eighteen. He stated that the family was taken aback by the actions taken by the police.  Wright revealed that they were astonished by what took place.

The family watched the incident body camera footage on Friday between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Wright claims that Hinton Jr. was “very depressed,” as the Cincinnati Enquirer notes.

Wright added, “We are still investigating the facts around Ryan’s shooting and de@th at the hands of the Cincinnati Police Department.” The family is quite distraught over their loss, he pointed out.

Wright has spoken with the police chief and asked for public records, including further specifics about the event.

In a related vein, Rodney Hinton Jr. showed up before a Hamilton County courthouse loaded with law enforcement agents for the first time. Recognizing the heated environment, his public defender, Tom Ewing, said, “I understand that there’s a lot of sadness and anger in this room right now and in the community at large,” asking for a “reasonable bond.” The ask was turned down.

The inquiry is still in progress, and the community impacted by these events still suffers high levels of conflict.
