Donald Trump attended the funeral of Pope Francis today and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

After this, Trump publicly spoke about the current conflict in Ukraine and warned Russian President Vladimir Putin about recent missile attacks.

In a Truth Social post, Trump complained about Putin’s actions.
The former president, who is 78 years old, condemned recent attacks, including a missile strike that hit residential areas in Kyiv early on Thursday morning, killing at least nine individuals and wounding over 70.
The attack was one of the most lethal attacks made against the Ukrainian capital since last July and occurred during heightened peace talks.

Trump’s tweet pointed to his concern regarding the growing violence, saying, “There was no reason for Putin to be firing missiles into civilian areas. It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to end the war.” He indicated that an alternative solution would be needed to combat Putin’s aggression, citing possibilities such as bank restrictions or second-level sanctions.

Trump also called for an end to the war, citing the cost in human lives: “5000 soldiers are dying a week. Let’s get the Peace Deal DONE!” Trump’s words reflect the urgency that has grown as diplomatic attempts to end the war have intensified.
