People are calling a new horror movie “the best” of the year after it got a great rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
After its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Alison Brie and Dave Franco’s new horror movie Together is getting a lot of attention. It has a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The couple is well-known for their appearances as a couple in Community and The Disaster Artist. They play a couple who leave the busy metropolis and start over in the country.
But their efforts to live in peace swiftly turn into catastrophe as relationships break down and a second substance throws their life into instability and unpredictable territory.
At first, it’s a tense family drama, but it swiftly turns into a bold sci-fi horror story with some strange and disgusting twists that make it feel like a psychological thriller. Sundance reviewers have praised this movie for its inventiveness, humor, and ability to tolerate the ludicrous.

The Guardian wrote about the inexplicable chemistry between Brie and Franco and said that Franco and Brie handle being smugly in love just as well as they do being furious on the edge. They also praised the movie’s wild, gasp-inducing moments, including an especially uncomfortable s** scene that made audiences squirm.
Variety was impressed by the movie’s use of real-world special effects, some of which were brilliant and some of which were just plain humorous. They also said that the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously. The magazine said that Together is a body-horror movie about a serious thing: love. It said that people should have fun with it.

Fans have also gone to Rotten Tomatoes to share their thoughts. A user wrote: Very different, with insane turns, spirals, and twists. I enjoy how the novel has little bits of humor that aren’t too obvious.
Another person commented, “There will never be a better movie to show how happy and scared codependent relationships can make you.”
RogerEbert.com was especially hopeful, saying that Together might be the biggest smash to come out of this year’s festival. The review called it the body horror version of a relationship dramedy. The director, Michael Shanks, praised the review for its playful storytelling and Cronenberg-like vision, saying, “We know where this is going more than the characters do, which makes us part of the chaos.”

Critics love it, and it’s a unique mix of horror, romance, and absurdity. Together is going to be one of the biggest independent hit movies of the year, especially for people who like the more sarcastic and funny movies in the genre.
