The internet is split over a video of a woman choosing to preserve a glass of champagne instead of a baby that was falling.

The video that went viral shows a mother, who is thought to be from the US, carrying a baby who is trying to grab a champagne glass on a table.

She doesn’t move the glass out of the way; instead, she lets the baby take the drink, which falls over. Instead of preserving the baby, the mother lets go of the hand that was holding their back and tries to grasp the drink without spilling any of its valuable contents.

But this effort didn’t work because it immediately caused the baby to be sprayed with bubbles and fall to the floor.

After the event, a video of it was posted to Twitter with the remark, “When you’ve finally become an adult and have your priorities straight.” It has since gotten 105.5K likes.

The video caused a lot of arguments online, with some people blaming the woman for letting the youngster fall.  Others, on the other hand, said she did the right thing by grasping the glass and stopping the infant from getting hurt more seriously.

One of the woman’s supporters wrote, “If that glass had broken, there was a chance of real injuries.” The kid will be OK because they fall all the time. I understand.

she probably did the right thing here tho. if the baby took the glass down with them, it would’ve shattered in their face. i’d rather have my baby recover from a slight fall rather than cuts caused by glass https://t.co/zqbRmqDcD3

Someone else chimed in, “But she probably did the right thing here.” If the baby had taken the glass with them, it would have broken in their face. I’d rather my infant get well from a small fall than from wounds from glass.

A third person said, “That was the right move,” while a fourth person joked, “That baby had no business touching that glass.”

That was the right move. #Momslaining

One commenter, on the other hand, said the mom shouldn’t have grandkids at all if a baby can get to booze.

Another person said, “You know the baby wouldn’t have fallen if she hadn’t let go to pick up the glass.” She also wanted that infant to be surrounded by glass. You behave as if this were planned out. Her instincts are terrible. You know that this meme is about having bad priorities, right?

You know the baby wouldn't have fallen if she didn't LET GO TO PICK UP THE GLASS. She also chose to have glass around that baby. You act like this shit was calculated. She has garbage instincts. You realize this meme is about having terrible priorities right?

A third critic said: One last user said, “I wonder what she checked for damage first—the baby or the rug?” This would never have happened if the glass hadn’t been within reach of the infant.

Do you believe the mother was wrong for saving the champagne instead of the baby that was falling?  Tell us what you think!
