Sophie Turner has made it clear that she will not tolerate online trolls who disparage her parenting.
After her separation from Joe Jonas, people said she “forgot” her kids. The Game of Thrones actress shot back with a scathing response that put an end to the unjustified accusations.
Turner and Jonas, who had been married for four years, said they were getting a divorce in 2023. They have two daughters together: Willa, who is four, and Delphine, who is two.
The announcement came during a rough time, as the couple was fighting in public over custody of their child. Turner used parental child abduction laws to sue Jonas and stop him from keeping their kids in the U.S.
Turner posted pictures from her trip to an Oasis concert, where she was having a great time with friends.
One picture showed Turner wearing a bucket hat and drinking beer, while another showed her playfully leaning in to kiss a picture of Liam Gallagher, the lead vocalist of the famous British rock band. The post also said that it was part of a paid partnership with Levi’s.
One online critic, however, didn’t like this supposedly funny moment. “Lmfao, I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” they commented.
Turner quickly replied with a funny and unapologetic response: “Oh, I’m so sorry. I forget that some people can’t think for themselves.” She went on, so… Listen to this… Shared custody is a strange idea. Perhaps, just possibly, they were with their father on that particular day.
This exchange demonstrates Turner’s distress over the ongoing public criticism she receives, particularly on her role as a mother. Following her divorce, Turner and her children returned to the UK. She still shares custody of her daughters with Jonas.
Turner has been enjoying a new chapter in her life, even if things have been hard for her. She recently made her new lover, British aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson, public. He is the heir to the 4th Viscount Cowdray and a wealthy bachelor with a claimed net worth of £224 million.
In a 2024 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Turner said she was glad to be back in the UK because it’s where she feels most like herself. She talked about the six years she lived in the U.S., when important things like her pregnancy happened without her close friends being there for her. “I just don’t feel like myself when I’m not in London with my friends and family,” she remarked.
Jonas has openly lauded Turner as a mother and said that their bond as co-parents is something to be thankful for. In May 2025, Jay Shetty, in his book ” On Purpose, ” said kind things about Turner, stating, “I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for.” Having a mother as wonderful as Sophie is a dream come true for those daughters.
Jonas said, I want children to look up to great women as they grow up. I want them to be open-minded and have a huge heart. I want them to be able to walk into any room and feel confident that they can do anything they desire.
Turner and Jonas’ divorce may have been a difficult time for both of them, but they both seem to be focused on co-parenting their kids and moving on with their lives. Turner, in particular, doesn’t seem to care about the trolls who try to bring her down. It’s evident that her kids and her personal health are her top interests.
