A small town in Brazil has been left in shock after a teenager’s mysterious illness spiraled into a fatal tragedy, prompting authorities and experts to search for answers.
The 14-year-old boy, Davi Nunes Moreira from Planalto, reportedly fell seriously ill and was rushed to the hospital after complaining of pain and vomiting.
At first, he told his father he had suffered a sports injury, but as his condition worsened, doctors noticed signs that something more serious had occurred.
Despite being transferred to a more advanced facility in Vitoria da Conquista for specialist care, Davi’s health continued to deteriorate rapidly.

He reportedly began limping, grew increasingly ill, and eventually confessed to doing something far more dangerous than first claimed.
According to reports, Davi admitted to medics that he had mixed the remains of a de@d butterfly with water and injected the substance into his leg.
Investigators believe he may have been influenced by a disturbing online trend, though the boy reportedly denied following any specific challenge before his de@th.
His father later discovered the syringe hidden under Davi’s pillow, further deepening the mystery.

Medical experts offered alarming possibilities, including a de@dly embolism, allergic reaction, or infection, potentially caused by fragments or air in the injection.
Dr. Luiz Fernando D. Relvas told VivaBem, “We don’t know how he prepared this mixture… there may have been air left inside, which could lead to an embolism.”
Marcelo Duarte, a zoology professor at São Paulo University, explained that butterfly fluids are understud!ed and may be toxic to humans.
Police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of de@th — but confirmed they are probing a horrifying possibility.

In the final hours of his life, Davi revealed the shocking truth: he had injected himself with a butterfly
