A day of joy at the shore played out as the family took pictures of their child spending their first time at the beach under sunny weather.
The father together with his daughter kept waving while smiling in the photo yet they remained ignorant to the ominous presence in the background.
The photos revealed an unusual item in the shallow water only when the family looked at them again at home.
After they found evidence of the discovery the family alerted it to SES Chelsea who operate as local search and rescue.
The local rescue group had notified an unofficial shark observation near Bonbeach and Chelsea beaches during that afternoon.
