Experts have warned people who are taking part in Gen Z’s new “free bl33ding” craze that it might be quite dangerous.

“Free bl33ding” is becoming more popular among Gen Z, but not many people know about the risks that come with it.

The “free bl33ding” movement started to gain traction in the 1970s, but it seems to be making a bit of a comeback now, courtesy of TikTok.

And while the controversial treatment has some benefits, scientists have also warned about the risks.

Women stop using tampons, pads, moon cups, and anything else that is meant to sponge up their flow during this procedure.

And instead, they prefer to let their blood flow freely.

There are a lot of reasons why someone could want to do this, but the most common ones include the high cost of period products, the pain and discomfort that tampons can bring, and various health and hygiene concerns.

Another reason some women might opt to stand up against period products is that they don’t want to make the Earth even dirtier with things that can be thrown away.

Thousands of TikTok users have made films explaining why they have chosen to stop using regular products.

And these young people are also teaching others how to accept it.

Someone on X (previously Twitter) said, “I chose the red skort this morning, and now I’m free bl33ding.” Women’s intuition.

A second typed: “Bl33ding freely in white sweatpants.” Goodnight, everyone, since I don’t care.

Many studies have shown that some well-known brands of tampons may have small amounts of lead, arsenic, and other harmful substances in them. This may be why more and more women are preferring to “free bl33d.”

Superdrug says that women spend an average of £5000 on period products over their lives.

Some people have said that their discomfort goes down a lot when they don’t use period products.

It’s simple to see why some people could choose it right away.

Healthline, on the other hand, said that menstrual blood can carry bloodborne diseases like Hepatitis C, which can remain outside of the body for up to three weeks.

This is also true because Hepatitis B can stay alive for at least seven days.

So, doctors have told anyone who wants to take part to stay away from “through-the-skin exposure.”

There is also a likelihood of a strong scent, and of course, things might get quite messy.

Aside from that, there don’t seem to be any other health dangers if you decide to “free-bl33d.”
