Krieo’s condition turned everything in the house dark and gloomy and Shayna faced devastating sadness because she knew the end was coming.
During that period Shayna observed King behaving oddly and showing signs of withdrawal because he was an 11-year-old dog.
She explained his behavior resulted from the illness stress that made him feel the house’s downcast atmosphere.
After finishing her art class she proceeded with her evening habit of greeting her dogs in the same way she always did.
Her routine action was to embrace King with her kiss because she did it many times throughout each day.

Everything turned different within the span of a few short seconds.
King exhibited sudden aggression toward Shayna for the first time since she describes it as an unexpected and motiveless attack.
She vividly remembered the instant when she moved toward him for a hug and kiss because he instantly attacked her face.
The entire event occurred within seconds as King did not growl before attacking nor make any warning signs or attempts to walk backward. Nothing had happened to provoke the attack. It happened so fast.”
The mental shock was tremendous and then the situation worsened to something truly awful.

She detailed her vivid memory of feeling shocked during that moment which made her experience severe distress.
The trauma caused her to rush to the bathroom where she witnessed a strange reflection that she did not recognize.
She sustained a serious wound while screaming desperately to her partner about calling emergency services.
The healthcare team touched down shortly after the hospital call to take Shayna to the hospital where she dealt with the events of the day.
The doctors showed her the terrible reality that her nose was mostly destroyed by the attacker.

The facial reconstructive procedures required for her recovery will extend into a lengthy series of forehead flap operations designed to restore the features of her face.
She battles between decisions regarding King the dog although she commonly put her trust in him in the past.
The dogs spent their entire life with me since I hugged them from puppyhood. She has raised these dogs throughout ten years which makes them her “children” to her.
“Do I want to put King down? Absolutely not.”
The risks of keeping him in her life are something she understands.

Home confinement until the end of his life remains an option yet it becomes impossible because I cannot cut myself off from public life.
The news came in a devastating manner because Krieo passed away from cancer on the second day after his surgical operation needed to be euthanized.
Hi perspective of endless sadness developed throughout losing the first pet while fighting to maintain the second one alive has been devastating.
She created a GoFundMe page to raise money for her costly medical expenses since she seeks community backing.

The story demonstrates that our well-intentioned pets become unpredictable when they experience high levels of anxiety.
Her recovery path both physically and emotionally leads to an unresolvable decision regarding the dog who shaped her entire existence.
