Her mother told her to have “five coffee enemas a day,” and she d!ed at the age of 23 after refusing standard cancer treatment.

In July 2023, Paloma Shemirani, a Cambridge graduate with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, d!ed of a heart attack caused by an untreated tumor in the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Doctors advised her that chemotherapy had an 80% chance of saving her life, but she chose not to have it and instead followed a strict alternative regimen that her mother, Kate Shemirani, had suggested.

This week, Paloma’s brother Gabriel told the inquest in Maidstone, Kent, that their mother had a big say in his sister’s so-called treatment, which included coffee enemas and green smoothies.

He added, “My sister d!ed because of what my mom did and believed.” “I don’t want anyone else to go through the same pain or loss that I have.”

I couldn’t do anything to save my sister. But it would mean a lot to me if I could make it so she wasn’t simply another person who d!ed this way, he said.

Kate Shemirani, Paloma’s mom, used to be a nurse but was fired by the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2021. She became famous for distributing false information about Covid-19.

The former nurse has said several times that no vaccine is safe or effective. At an anti-lockdown rally, she even equated healthcare personnel to Nazi war criminals.

According to reports, she refused chemotherapy and instead followed a strict vegan diet, natural juices, supplements, and frequent coffee enemas to “detoxify” her body.

The outlet said that the NMC took away her license because they thought her actions put the public in a lot of danger.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, she is said to have lost faith in traditional treatment.

She had surgery, but she now says that Gerson therapy, which uses raw juices, vitamins, and repeated enemas to detoxify the body, helped her get better. There is no medical use for Gerson therapy that the FDA has approved.

The New York Post says that Paloma denied having cancer in writing before she d!ed, calling the diagnosis a “absurd fantasy.”

She was worried that chemotherapy could make her unable to have children, but she was “delighted” with her other treatment and claimed she was “sure” she would get better.

The brother, who was saddened, asked forensic psychiatrist Dr. Ali Ajaz questions during the inquest into the de@th of his 23-year-old sister. Dr. Ajaz had met with the sister seven times at her mother’s request.

He said that my mother’s control affected the doctor’s evaluation, which Dr. Ajaz dubbed “speculation.” When asked about the dangers of coffee enemas, Dr. Ajaz said, “I don’t know anything about coffee enemas.”

Dr. Ajaz had already said in a High Court report that he didn’t think there were any problems with Ms. Shemirani being forced or improperly influenced in her medical judgments. But the inquiry showed that he had been a guest on Kate’s podcast three times and had gotten a lot of patient referrals from her.

Coroner Catherine Wood admonished the mother several times about her behavior during the inquiry, which included holding up signs to the camera and trying to make new accusations.

After a second day of interruptions, Wood said she was close to being in contempt of court.

The investigation into Paloma Shemirani’s de@th is still going on.
