As Admiral Piett, Colley became famous all over the world. He was the captain of Darth Vader’s ship, the Executor, in both Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

Fans loved his portrayal so much that decades later, he portrayed the same character in the animated movie Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out.

He stayed connected to the series for the rest of his life, as he was often invited to fan conventions and Star Wars events all over the world.

Colley had a long and varied career that lasted more than 60 years, in addition to his work in the Star Wars world.

He first appeared on the cinema in 1961 and went on to star in several big British shows, such as Coronation Street, the 1978 version of Les Misérables, and the 1982 movie Firefox.

He was also in well-known shows including Peaky Blinders, Misfits, and EastEnders. He was last credited as an actor in the 2024 movie Dan Hawk Psychic Detective.

Julian Owen, his agent, said in a statement that he was “one of our finest character actors.” He also said that he had a lot of interests outside of acting, such as gardening, collecting art, and fast automobiles.

I’m very sorry to have to tell you that my client, Kenneth Colley, d!ed on Monday, June 30, at around 5:30 p.m. in a hospital in Ashford, Kent. Owen said he was 87.

He had been admitted after falling and hurting his arm, but he rapidly got COVID, which turned into pneumonia.
