The parents of Renna O’Rourke, of Arizona, U.S., have issued an urgent warning against the viral TikTok trend, also known as chroming or huffing.

The 19-year-old, who was called “vivacious, caring, and loyal,” had a heart attack and was sent to the hospital right away.
She was in the intensive care unit for a week without waking up before being pronounced brain-dead.
Renna died from sudden sniffing de@th syndrome, which is when someone dies suddenly after using inhalants.
People are getting high by “dusting,” which means breathing in everyday things to earn views online.

The Cleveland Clinic says that inhalants can “induce mind-altering effects” and “have many short- and long-term effects and can be very dangerous.”
The Independent says that the kid and her boyfriend DoorDashed aerosol keyboard cleaner to her parents’ house without her mom knowing.
Renna then passed out after breathing in the keyboard cleaner.

The teen’s parents now wish to commemorate Renna by telling people about the dangers of “dusting.”
Dana O’Rourke, the girl’s mother, stated, “You don’t need an ID.” It doesn’t smell. It’s what kids want. They can afford it, they can get it, and it doesn’t appear in mom and dad’s drug test.”
She said, “Don’t believe your kid.” Dig deep. Look in their rooms. It seems bad, but not trusting them could save their life.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the O’Rourke family pay for hospital bills, funeral, and therapy, as well as to raise awareness about “dusting.”
It wanted to raise $5,000, but it has already raised more than $12,000.

People wrote on the page, “I’m so sorry for your loss” and “Renna was such a sweet girl.”
