After falling from a third-story window during a sleepover at a friend’s house in Southbridge, 12-year-old Arya Lebeau is lost and a Massachusetts family is grieving.
People reports that the late Friday, May 23 incident happened calls for local officials and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office to launch an ongoing investigation.
After the incident, the youngster was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester; early the next morning, on May 24, she passed away from her injuries.

The Massachusetts Chief Medical Examiner’s office is performing an autopsy, revealed the Worcester County District Attorney, and the case has been labelled as a “unattended de@th”.
“I Just Want Closure”: Family’s Search for Solace
Heartbroken and searching for answers, Arya’s father, Jeremy Lebeau, “She was the best kid I could have in my life. I miss her. I just want closure; regardless of whatever; I want answers,” he said to WCVB.
Arya had stayed at the friend’s house before, and her parents thought adult supervision would be there.
But following the tragedy, Charlene Cabrera, Jeremy’s mother, was told that none of the parents had been home at the time.
“I dropped her off for her sleepover, and I just feel like I’m waiting for her to come home,” Cabrera said to NBC Boston News. “She was so excited about the future; this summer she was especially looking forward to events with her friends.”

Remembering Arya: An Active Life Full with Dreams
At Southbridge Middle School, Arya, a seventh grader, was well-known for her vivid personality and artistic sensibility. Her bedroom wall had a scribbled to—-do list for summer, with fantasies of visits to Six Flags, beauty and craft projects with friends, and dance videos created.
“She spent every summer swimming constantly. She was such a unique little child; everyone loved her. Her sharp and sassy self will be much missed, her obituary notes.

Launched by family friend Richard Belba, a GoFundMe effort has brought in almost $18,000 to assist the bereaved family with burial expenses. “I cannot put the depth of loss I experience at the de@th of my only baby,” Cabrera said on the campaign page. “I have no words, but would want to thank every single person, parent and child for reaching out and for your wonderful support.”
Monday, June 2, at the House of Destiny in Southbridge, the funeral for Arya Lebeau will take place at 10:00 AM; interment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
