Katy Perry’s Blue Origin mission was faked, conspiracy theorists claim

According to conspiracy theorists, Katy Perry’s Blue Origin space mission was staged.

Earlier this week, Katy Perry became the first chart-topping artist to launch into space with an all-female crew.

Blue Origin’s first female crew launched into suborbital space earlier this week (14 April), rocketing over 60 miles above the Earth.

In addition to Perry, Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, researcher Amanda Nguyen, journalist Gayle King, and film producer Kerianne Flynn also attended.

The NS-31 mission lasted 10 minutes and 21 seconds. It concluded when the New Shepard rocket flew past the Kármán line and safely returned to Texas.

Despite this, conspiracy theorists, who are often classified as people with too much free time, think it was all a hoax.

First conspiracy theory – Katy Perry’s hairstyle

NASA astronaut Suni Williams’ wild hair in space has been compared to Perry’s on X.

It took the singer just over 10 minutes to reach the International Space Station (ISS) while Williams was up there for 286 days.

“I can’t believe Perry’s hair is flawless. The real astronaut lady that Space X saved had raised hair. One person commented, “This is so fake.”.

Another added, “Look at their hair, then at Sumi’s [sic] in space. This is all fake.”

Someone else expressed frustration, asking, “Why don’t Katy Perry and the other women tie up their hair before heading out? It feels like a staged act to me.”

There’s an apparent reason for this, but let’s move on.

Second conspiracy theory – ‘Fake hand’ spotted on Blue Origin

On X, a user spotted The New Shepard capsule again, which clearly encourages free speech.

@MJTruthUltra tweeted: “There’s something wrong with the Blue Origin ‘Space Flight’ that Katy Perry was on.

Social media questions include, “Where are the re-entry burn marks?” and “Why does that hand look fake?

    “This world is so crazy.”

The tweet’s picture was of a New Shepard Capsule test flight in 2017, not Perry’s mission.

According to the Daily Mail, this was a test flight, so there was a mannequin on board.

Third conspiracy theory: Blue Origin vs. SpaceX

In addition, conspiracy theorists have wondered why Blue Origin’s New Shepard capsule does not appear to have the same scorched, burned appearance as SpaceX’s Falcon capsules.

They said it looked too clean.

New Shepard is a suborbital rocket, which means it briefly crosses the edge of space before returning to Earth without reaching orbit.

Due to this, re-entry speeds are much slower than those of orbital vehicles such as SpaceX’s Dragon or Falcon 9’s boosters.

Due to the massive speed difference, New Shepard’s capsule gently drifts back under parachutes, resulting in less atmospheric friction and heat.

Fourth conspiracy theory – A Hollywood fake hatch opening

Some conspiracy theorists claim there should have been more signs of re-entry stress, like smoke or dramatic orchestral music when the crew opened the hatch.

Several people have claimed that the lighting inside the capsule was of studio quality.

Hopefully, it wasn’t staged, so we won’t have to hear about the ‘Flat Earth Theory’ anymore.
